The article talks of current service offering of 160by2.com, and also reveals our larger plan. We have already built up a large user base and are steadily developing a rich ad inventory. Saye Sekhar of ‘The Hindu’ appreciated our Anti Spam Purge System that protects all our users. He also dwelt on our dream of being able to offer free sms from mobile to mobile in partnership with the mobile operators.
Contrary to popular perception we found mobile operators to be very open and frank. They raised some genuine queries regarding the process and the business model. We have had encouraging discussions with couple of operators, but we want to establish attractiveness of 160by2.com model by running it succesfully on internet, before we actually take the huge leap.
We are thankful to our users who have not only been encouraging us with great feedback, but have also been providing valuable suggestions to improve the service.
Contacts, Outbox and Inbox features are already hugely popular with a large proportion of our user base. We are working very hard on incorporating some of other user suggestions. We will be launching a new look website soon, with some new exciting features.

Every time I am sending a SMS to some one, along with my SMS they are receiving another message like “TO STOP RECEIVING SMS, VISIT http://WWW.160BY2.COM/STOP AND OPTOUT”. This should not be with every one since the persons receiving my SMS are getting confusing.

Hi,
As part of our Anti Spamming and Privacy Policy we allow receivers to stop messages from any particular mobile, or from all mobiles, through 160by2.com.
The opt-out message is not served with all your messages. It is appended to the first message that any mobile receives from 160by2. Later on it is sent out perioidically to remind the receiver of the choice to opt out.

Can you please add a facility for adding more number of recipients while we are sending out a message. Currently its limited to 1 only.
I know that increasing the number of recipients may invite spam but you can limit the number of recipients.
1. Limit the number of recipients to a small number (like 3 or 5 )
2. Or better still provide users to send message to more recipients if they have been sending message’s regularly from your site without any spams and have been registered for a certain period of time.
For Example :
User Register (time) Messages Sent Allowed No. of recipients
1 month 60 1
2 months 150 3
3 months 200 5
and so on …
Btw can you guys setup a Forum. it will be far more interactive i guess rather than a blog.

Thats a new phase of mob advertising- and i have already accepted it with open arms. I myself develop content for a mob advertising site and together with that i found 160 by 2 more penetrating and effective both for public and the VAS providers.

To start, Lottsa thks for such a wonderful service, Infact i still remember using the mtnsms.com but it was stopped for whatever reasons, I tried n numbers to ways to send sms via internet and here i can send msg to my loved ones and that too totally free. no matter even if its only 80 characters.
I would also like to appreciate the wonderful way and the forsight in creating this website as it allows me to save a contact if its a new number, or i can randomly select the short msg instead of typing and thinking of a new msg. Its really novel way to send msg’s. Really Love u all…

After returning from India I tried sending SMS through my mobile phone but they never reached the recipient although I got billed for each of the SMS, then my attention turned to Interenet n for the whole of the last month I searched n searched but to almost no avail until recently my eyes caught a banner on a website inviting to send free SMS to any number in India…Hurrah went my Heart.
Let me thank U with all my heart for coming up with such a rare (as SMS sending through the net is in case of INDIA) and reliable service. Hats Off to the team of yours.
Now for the improvement suggestions, I don’t know whether I can offer you anything new n really useful, still I’ll let you know what would make the service a little more useful to me:
1. It would help the senders to select in with a click the recipient’s number from ones contact list if the list were available on the SEND-SMS page….just like the contacts appearing in hotmail while composing a mail.
2. Also on the same SEND-SMS page, it would be alot helpful for users to have an open list of in vogue shorts for words like gud9t (goodnight), tc (take care), LoL (Laughing out Loud) n all that you know….people are inventing them daily…you might develop a huge culture of it… n it wud be great if one cud make a list of short-words one uses n tht list was open to him to add from by a click while composing a message.
3. Last, yet not the least…its more of a request than a suggestion…plz increase the 80 characters limit, if not much…just a littele.

Hi my account “izad14″ mobile 505777417 has been blocked., moreover i cannot recieve any messages either from 160by2 users after repeated emails to you with the opt in code and repeated requests that my account was not used for spamming since all my reciepnts are within my personal contact list and are my clients.Also now I cannot access my contacts list i saved in your server.
The service is great but the after sales is very disturbing there is never a reply from your side as a last resort i am posting my problem here, and to imagine the number of people that signed up to your service after my referral.
Hope you activate the account and enable me to recieve messages as well.
