One of the most oft repeated requests from our users is: How can I send free SMS from my mobile?

While logging into the site you can select “Remember Me” option on your mobile browser. Then you will not need to enter user name and password next time you visit 160by2 on your mobile next time.

Thats really a nice feature. But when I go to 160by2.com from the Opera browser on the phone it just shows me the usual 160by2 as seen on a PC. But it works when using the default phone browser. It would be nice if you make a url specifically for mobiles. For eg m.160by2.com etc

Error message saying “Session Expired” while sending SMS?
If you receive an error message “Session Expired” while sending an SMS, it is due to the faulty settings on your handset. To stop this, change the cookies settings to ‘allow’.
Following are the steps to set cookies in Nokia N70 :-
Please select ‘ Web’ in the menu, select options and then go to settings.In the settings please click on cookies where you will have two modes- 1. allow ,2 reject. please select allow.
Then close the browser completely, after which you can start using 160by2.com again.If you are still getting the same problem please restart your mobile phone.

“Ai* T*E*”, “Reli**ce”,etc….and specially….mobile….normally not having GPRS facility….then what4 this ppl…how can they send a free msg…msg frm CDMA phone……

Hi i just want to suggest one thing:
There should be more Filters while Searching on ‘My SMS’ tab.
Like we can search our sent messages to a specific member .
As per now we are only able to filter through dates.
As if i want to Search my messages sent to XYZ friend then i should be able to do that under ‘My SMS’ tab .

Please consider the idea of providing the options for making groups in the contacts category. This will make sending common messages much easier. And you can do some targeted advertising also – Like, if a youngster is sending a message to his/her friends you can use the ads that are relevant to that age group. Sort of a system used by google….

when I send any SMS to anyone they are not understand who send this SMS. Though it goes with my number but its looking is not normal SMS. There is a add for your web also. If it is possible to ignore, it will be more beautiful.

Hello,
I use Nokia E61 and the browser automatically takes me to the WAP page with easier messaging capability.
I have tried both http://www.160by2.com and http://160by2.com from my iPhone, which has the mobile Safari browser and it always takes me to the generic web page of 160by2 and not the WAP page. Any tips?

i have also recommended to many of my friends… please do keep on providing good featured services… Please try to increase character limit above 80 or alternatively send message in one part and adverisement in second part of sms… keep going on…

As a user like me from Abroad (Doha) this facility is soooo nice, It should be very helpful if you have give a facility to chating by uses of few words thorough your server. (PC to Mobile or mobile to the site 160by2.com – viceversa). like Chikka and Rediffbol Messengers..

Sorry for the inconvenience you have been facing.
I suppose you are using 160by2 Java Application. If yes then please logout from the application, exit it and restart your mobile once. After this you can start, login and re-use the application.
If it is not 160by2 Java application then please let me know in which our service you are facing this problem? I shall definitely help you to resolve it.
If you still face any issues, do send me your username & mobile number on my email so that I can contact you for further assistance.

i was using 160by2 for a while now in my iphone using safari browser, until recently i cannot complete my log-in because i keep on getting the “session expired” message. I tried http:\\160by2.com, http:\\www., but still no luck. Also tried restarting my iphone. During my first week of using it, its working, but now, i have to go back to my laptop to use it. I’m here in dubAi right now and using wi-fi if it helps. I wAs hoping u could help me with my concern.. Thanks in advace.

This is great. But I have a query, cannot you guys provide an API using which we could utilize 160by2 service to send free SMS using other applications.
If the parameters to user credentials, receiver’s number and the message could be sent using an API (I mean provision for sending the parameters through the URL – GET method, or simply POST method), we could develop great cost-effective and user-friendly mobile applications.
To support with an example : http://160by2.com/compose_sms.aspx?user=name&pwd=pwd&to=501231231&msg=hi+how+are+you+doing
