That is what our new launch is all about. ‘My Ads’ as we call it is an interface that you can use to post your job, gadget or real estate requirements to the recipients of 160by2 msgs who may contact you if they could provide you with what you want.
How We Got Here
As 160by2.com users, you will know how our medium works. The SMS sent by our users are tagged with advertisements which make up for the cost incurred in helping you send SMS for free. As more and more advertisers started showing their interest in our website, we got thinking – Is it only advertisers who will be interested? Why wouldn’t our normal users be interested in using the same service to find something they are looking for? That laid the foundation for the service we are launching today!
How to Post Your First Ad:
So decided what you want to buy or sell or promote? The next step is to go ahead and create your own Ad. You may now login to 160by2.com and click on My Ads. You are now shown the following form:
The first field lets you specify the category of ad. This will help our system to intelligently serve the ads to those users who we think will best require it. The second field lets you uniquely identify your ad post. Let us suppose a case where you want to sell your cellphone and bike. This field will let you identify how each of your ads are performing when you have posted multiple ads.
Text of Ad - This is the most important field you have to fill in the form. This is the actual text that shall be seen by the recipient of msgs sent from 160by2. In 65 characters, explain all that you need, provide a phone number or email id so that people who receive the message shall be able to contact you. You can target your ad to the locations of your choice using the next field. We are currently rolling out the service to the four metros and Andhra Pradesh. You may also choose to send your ads Pan-India!
Every user gets Rs. 5000 worth FREE ad post which he can use to promote his website or buy/sell products. But should choose to create more than one ad, you can split this budget of 5000 into as many smaller ad postings as you would like. This gives the flexibility for you to set higher spending on the ad that is of a higher priority.
Once you submit the ad, it will be manually approved by our team. You will receive an SMS on approval of your ad.
So now we not only provide FREE sms to our Users but also provide FREE ads!

To start with, we deduct Re.1 for every SMS sent. And your ad shall be displayed to anyone in the geography you have selected. MyAds is all about connecting two unrelated people

You may enter your blog address in the ‘Text of Ad’ column. But I am sorry, you may not be able to publish MyAds on your blog.

We display the SMS sender’s number, the message followed by the text ‘AD:’ followed by your ad message. However, we have observed that ad posters are misinterpreted as the senders of the SMS when you provide your contact number at the end of the ad (since that would effectively mean at the end of the whole SMS which will give the recipient ignorant of 160by2 think that the number belongs to the sender of the SMS). For best results, we suggest you to provide your contact number in the beginning or the middle of your ad.

Ads now cost Re.1 per SMS. This is sent to SMS messages sent by anyone to anybody else in the location set by you in the ‘Create Ad’ section.
